PolyMet plans to offset wetland destruction is not the whole story.

PolyMet plans to offset wetland destruction- But that is not the complete story and unless wetland are replaced with the same functionality it is a shell game by PolyMet. http://www.mprnews.org/story/2013/12/16/environment/polymet-copper-nickel-mine-permit?from=hp

LCCMR meeting 28 Feb 2011

I attended the LCCMR meeting tonight at the Stare Office Building. That is the Legislative-CITIZEN Commission on Minnesota Resources. The agenda item was Continuation of the Environmental and Natural Resources Trust Fund. So both citizens and legislators. They were discussing HF400 and items for cutting to get the bill through.

It was absolutely disgusting to watch. I watched Rep McNamara, Rep.Nackbarth and Sen. Ingebriigtsen try to ramrod through some deletions such as: MN Breeding Bird Atlas,Golden Eagle survey, Addressing Ozone Pollution in MN, among about 20 others.
They would talk together behind a piece of paper vs. listening to someone who was speaking to them. Or walk in and our of the meeting and not even know what was going on.

People should go to the capitol so see the disgusting goings on. They start like 15 minutes late. To me it appeared to be all about the egos of the men mentioned previously. Certainly not about the people of Minnesota or their district. Very very sad.

Every bottle makes a difference

The slogan on the Ethos water display at Starbucks in Galleria in Edina Minnesota. Yes it does as one more bottle probably in a landfill for hundreds of years. Starbucks, and most, do not have a recycle for glass or plastic.

Also there was the production impact of bottling and transporting the water.

So Ethos Water and Starbucks are definitely making a definite negative difference to Mother Earth.

Starbucks not recycling

I bought some orange juice at Starbucks in the Galleria in Edina, MN. When done I asked if they recycle the plastic container and they did not.

If Starbucks is going to talk Social Responsibility then should start walking the talk.

So I too the empty container home to recycle.
